Recall For Chevrolet Cruze Not Required

Chevrolet Cruze in Indonesia do not need the recall because the sedan was already checked before entering Indonesia.

"The unit allocation for Indonesia have been checked and do the replacement before it is imported into Indonesia," said Corporate Communications Manager of PT General Motors Autoworld Indonesia, Kiki Dawn, here on Tuesday.

Kiki suggested that when responding to news about the United States General Motors last week announced a recall on the 2100 Chevrolet Cruze sedan.

Recall is to examine the alleged problems at the wheel.

As quoted by Reuters, GM's United States says there has been no reports of accidents or injuries from the issue.

"We believe this is the only (model) cars were damaged," said Jeff Boyer, executive director of GM in a statement Friday.

Kiki put forward to the present complaint stir that tightened by itself is not experienced by Cruze in Indonesia.

"Cruze is marketed in the United States, produced in Canada while the Cruze is sold in Indonesia are produced in Korea. We are sure, problems such as the Cruze in the United States is not in the Cruze is marketed in Indonesia," said Kiki.

Chevy Cruze was first launched outside the U.S. in 2009 and new in the U.S. alone in September 2010.

Cruze sales in the U.S. during the quarter is expected to exceed 50,000 units. More than 100,000 units have been produced Cruze.

Kiki also noted that last year GM Korea finds no lack of confidence on the quality of the installation of the device connector / fuel hose connection method on the Cruze.

GM Korea initiated immediately re-check and replace the devices connecting the whole unit so it will not leak.
